US PER COUNCIL PROJECTS

Public Disclosure of Non Profit Organization Information

Recent Federal Regulations have made a change in disclosure requirements for non profit organizations. Previous to the newly enacted regulations, a non profit organization was required to make available its disclosable information "for inspection". The new regulations require colleges, universities, hospitals, publicly supported charities, labor unions and other tax-exempt organizations, to provide copies of information about revenues, executive salaries, and other information including the organizations filings for application for tax-exemption and annual information returns. These regulations go into effect June 8, 1999. The US PER Council is working to provide the required information as a service to the one million plus organizations affected by these regulations, by posting them on the Internet.
